130221: Marko Ciciliani's new work "Intersection" for live-electronics and live-video is online:

130210: Marko Ciciliani has been invited to the Noise In And As Music conference in October 13 at the University of Huddersfield to perform his entire work Pop Wall Alphabet with a duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes.

121109: Tomorrow is the premiere of "Heterotopolis" at the ZKM in Karlsruhe, an hour long audiovisual piece which was created in collaboration with visual artist Marcel Bühler. On November 14 the same piece will be performed at the Mumuth in Graz.

120504: Ciciliani received an invitation to the International Computer Music Conference 2012 in Ljubljana (Spet.9-15), to present his paper "Musical Experience beyond audible sound and its relevance for electro-acoustic composition".

120414: Ciciliani received a commission from the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology in Zürich, to compose a new work for a sensor equipped bass-clarinet. The work is going to be premierd in 2013 by Matthias Müller.

120208: from February 13-17 Marko Ciciliani will give a workshop at ESMAE in porto/Portugal.

120122: Slagwerkgroep Den Haag has commissioned Marko Ciciliani and Yannis Kyriakides to collaborative compose a piece for them, as a tribute to John Cage's collaboration with Lou Harrison.

110823: Håkon Stene and Marko Ciciliani finished recording "Black Horizon" for two table top guitars and four players with sound-engineer Wolfgang Musil. The piece is going to be released on Stene's solo CD on the norwegian label plus3db.

110815: Marko Ciciliani gave a solo recital at the coal mine in Göttelborn/Germany, premiering two new works.

110802: Marko Ciciliani spent a 2 week artist residency at ZKM/Karlsruhe, working with Marcel Bühler on their new project "Heterotopolis".

110304: Marko Ciciliani has taken on a position as guest-professor for electroacoustic composition at the IEM of the Arts University in Graz/Austria. The appointment lasts until February 2012.

110112: ZKM and Novembermusic will co-produce a new program length multimedia work with the title Heterotopolis by Marko Ciciliani (composition, electronics and light design) and Marcel Bühler (3D laser graphics) for the group Bakin Zub. It is going to be premiered at the ZKM in Karlsruhe on November 10, 2012, using the 48 speaker ambisonic sound environment.

110101: the CD "Jeanne of the Dark" has been released on the Hamburg-based label Ahornfelder. "Jeanne of the Dark" is a program length work written for the group Bakin Zub. It was premierd in 2008 at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.

101028: Ciciliani obtained a PhD from Brunel University for his thesis "Dirty Light: the application of musical principles to the organisation of light as an extension of musical expression into the non-figurative visual realm".

100812: starting from the October, Ciciliani will be teaching at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Furthermore he is lecturer at the University for Applied Sciences in St. Pölten and guest-lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

100208: Bakin Zub just finished a tour performing "Jeanne of the Dark" in Tilburg, Amsterdam and Münster. Ciciliani composed this piece for 4 musicians, light design and video partly in collaboration with the media artist Terre Thaemlitz.

100126: Ciciliani is currently working with the violinist Barbara Lüneburg at the ZKM in Karlsruhe at a DVD production of his piece 'Alias' for electric violin, electronic, lighting and laser. The film material has been shot in a night session in the impressive halls of the ZKM's Museum for Contemporary Art.

091225: For February 2010 Ciciliani has been granted a two-week 'follow-up" residency at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles/USA. In this period he will have performances and give lectures in Southern California. He will also be working with the L.A. based ensemble SoNu.

091128: In November the 40 minute work "Dromomania" for two pianos, electronics and light design was premiered at the November Music Festival in Den Bosch by Sonsoles Alonso and Moritz Eggert. More performances in Venlo, Utrecht and Maastricht followed. The next performance of the work is taking place on December 6 in Nürnberg.

090924: A new excerpt of a performace of "Corrosion", which took place on May 7th 2009 in the Goethe Institute in Los Angeles can be viewed at Youtube

090902: In August 2009 Marko Ciciliani has completed a new work for four percussionists with the title 'Black Horizon'. The instruments used in this piece are two electric guitars that are lying flat on a table and that are played by two percussionists per instrument. The work was written for the Schlagquartett Köln and will be premiered in Dezember 2010 in Cologne.
